A long life can create opportunity, purpose, and deeper family connection. It can also create financial and practical challenges that are easy to miss when planning focuses only on investments.
My firm’s work follows a process centered on five connected longevity risks: income, taxes, care, family, and legacy. Its goal is to help clients understand where they stand, clarify what matters most, decide whether deeper planning is needed, and then execute and implement any plan that results. We use a systematic method to find connections that are easy to miss when financial decisions are considered one at a time.
My background includes retirement income planning, tax-efficient distribution planning, care planning, estate and legacy coordination, asset protection, charitable planning, special needs planning, and business transition planning.
My perspective is shaped by an unusual combination of experiences. Before entering financial services, I built an international business and became widely known as a scholar, author, teacher, publisher, and maker of historical musical instruments. I hold MA and PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge and have published my research with leading scholarly presses.
Today I bring the same analytical rigor and long-term perspective to helping clients make informed decisions about retirement, aging, family, and legacy. My role is to see the whole picture, help the client identify connections, and coordinate appropriately with existing professionals, including clients' own attorneys, CPAs, investment managers, insurance agents, or care managers, as well as my own internal team of planning, investment, and insurance consultants at Eagle Strategies.
I believe financial planning is ultimately about preserving independence, expanding choices, and helping families navigate life’s later chapters with greater confidence.
as an Investment Advisor Representative with Eagle Strategies LLC;
as a Registered Representative offering securities through NYLIFE Securities LLC;
and as an Agent with New York Life Insurance Company, as well as a broker for other insurance carriers.
These roles allow me to help clients consider planning, advisory, securities, and insurance questions through the appropriate approved channels.
My qualifications include the Chartered Financial Consultant, ChFC® designation and the Certification for Long-Term Care, CLTC®. I am a member of New York Life’s Executive Council*, as well as the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)**, 2023 - 2024). I also participate in estate planning councils serving the Hudson Valley, Putnam, and Westchester County communities.
These experiences support a planning approach that can address aging, family dynamics, care funding, tax-efficient retirement income, legacy, and long-life purpose.
I am also Treasurer Emeritus of the Howland Chamber Music Circle and have served as a director and auditor with local, county, and state arts organizations and authorities.
*Awarded by New York Life Insurance Company for outstanding sales achievements. Council is an annual company recognition program based on agent production from July 1- June 30.
**MDRT is recognized throughout the industry as the standard of excellence in life insurance sales performance.
